Institute of Strategic Thinking (SDE), as a milestone in strategic thinking field, aims to play a crucial role in future’s great Turkey, on the way to sustain strategic depth and historical mission. The Institute was officially established on 3 March 2009 to operate under the Foundation of Strategic Thinking and Research. SDE, as a non-governmental organization, carries an important mission to shape Turkey’s future policies in domestic and foreign affairs, based on common mind and collective leadership within her historical geography where state and public unifies as a whole.

The basic goal of SDE is to witness a Turkey as a country  depending on the Constitution of Republic of Turkey and democracy; believing in basic human rights and freedoms; accepting a secular, free and independent existence; strengthening national, spiritual and moral values; aiming to ensure a modern, fortunate, prosperous and advanced society; providing economic and technologic development and internalizing social state of law and principles of civil society.

In order to achieve its primary goal, SDE aims to serve to strenghten our country and improve our people by the principles of embracing people from all segments of our society, evaluating and managing; Turkey’s human resources, knowledge, production of ideas and capacity of research; potential of developing project, policy and strategy; ability on international affairs, communication and organizations following the most efficient path. SDE undertakes one of the keystone missions that bring in strategic view to the country. This is such an important case for New Turkey which is rapidly turning into a global power from a regional power. Namely SDE, is on the way to success, becoming the school of strategic thinking in New Turkey.
