According to their professions, media members must pay attention rather in all fields. On this account, they must have a considerable knowledge. Hence, media members’ proposals and recommendations enrich the studies by Institute of Strategic Thinking. As a thinking and research center, SDE shares and presents its works with public, thus strengthens the role and the need for the media as it is the ‘best way to reach’ society.
The Media Council is one of the three councils within SDE, but not a professional organization. The council provides several privileges for the members. The council meets regularly in every month with the participation of specialist staff in SDE, so as to inform the directors of the council about crucial developments and private information.
The directors of the council may provide contributions to projects in the pipeline and, again completed projects are shared initially with the directors. The directors of the council may take part in the brainstorming activities, moreover may request consultancy and extensive information in any subject from the specialists. The Media Council may prepare programs both in professional or various fields within SDE. In other words, there is a mutual relationship with SDE and the Media Council.
The SDE overrates the connection and relationship with media. In this respect, the fundamental prerequisite for being a member of the Council is to believe in democratization, strengthened independency, civilization, economical and cultural development of Turkey in order to provide the country to be more powerful both in the region and in the world.
The Media Council facilitates under directorship of Vice Chairman of the Governing Board, Ambassador (ret.) Nüzhet Kandemir, and Member of the Governing Board Alper Tan.
