Prof. Aktay claimed that saying that today we are not where we started in the Kurdish problem does not mean that everything that needs to be done has been done.
Certainly, there are still many things we should do but they can only happen through politics. The problems that came from denying the existence of the Kurdish problem have disappeared, so we cannot act like no distance has been covered on the road to its solution. Some Kurdish politicians continue to behave as if nothing has happened, which makes the problem seem bigger than it is. Efforts to solve the Kurdish problem have not yet lived up to expectations, but if you look at what has been done with common sense, you will clearly see that much ground has been covered. However, some people are trying to downplay these actions and progress with anger and hatred. This propaganda is effective but makes no contribution to peace or a solution.
