It seems that we are being captured by a more serious spiral of violence again. These are the circumstances suggesting “the end of words”. However, everyone has something to say on this issue. Terror makes everyone talk violently.
A significant number of people are busy with interpreting the intentions of the people organizing the attacks. It is as if people are trying to decode the message full of symbols in another language.
What the organization means with its attacks is to prove that it is the indisputable party to solve the problem with its dominance on the issue.
People claiming that they are expert interpreting the attacks of the organization, are trying to show that the problem is related to the failures in the democratic initiative and the only reason for the circumstances is hesitative attitudes of the administration towards the initiative. The people who are against the initiative are trying to say that the initiative policies are responsible for the increase in terror attacks. For them, terror takes courage from the initiative policies and these attacks are enough to display that the initiative has ended with a failure.
However, neither the terror attacks we have experienced are not related to the present Kurdish problem nor is there a will to deal with the matters in the organization that has carried out the attack. More evidently, the PKK which carries a message for Turkey through these attacks even cannot grasp what the message is.
If it is an organization as it was told us- that is to say if it has more or less good relations with the Kurdish people-, there is no point for the PKK to carry out this attack in this context. Hence these kinds of attacks do nothing but push the present government, which is the only addressee to solve this problem, to a period in which the government cannot find a solution to the problem and support the available ones. In this case, the PKK either does not want to do or there is a big gap between what it does and what it means.
And this is the adequate reason for the administration to hesitate to talk openly with the PKK and İmralı.
The government is tried to be dragged into an idea which is based upon inevitability of talking with Öcalan for the escalated and gradually escalating attacks. But the address to meet the organization, which comes out with weird alliances, and Öcalan is a trap organized for the AK (Justice and Development Party) Party. If the AK Party believed in their words, there would be no problem to talk with them in order to stanch; yet how can the government trust the organization and Öcalan that have never shown a sign of confidence and goodwill so far?
Everything that the military and unmilitary powers responsible to do to handle the Kurdish policy, today does nothing but makes it harder for the government to take steps in this direction and sabotages the steps taken. Emine Ayna-Co-president of the DTP- stated that the initiative had already ended as if giving a piece of good news with laughter at cameras. Whereas it seems with the KKC operations after which the PKK militants were handcuffed and came from Habur eight months ago, they can better conceal their attitudes. This situation displays that how an interesting alliances works with a cosmic solidarity against the initiative.
Did the judges deciding to arrest the PKK militants, who were brought to Turkey by the promises of the administration on no judgment by taking a brave initiative for the democratic initiative, rise Emine Ayna’s happiness or sorrow?
And when we get back to the beginning of the article, in other words to the question on whom the message the PKK carries…
We have already mentioned that there are some risks in Turkey’s foreign policy recently. The relations in the politics determined by Ahmet Davutoğlu’s “zero problem with neighbors” formula, brought Turkey’s foreign policy to a efficient and fruitful position unlike in its past. It is fact that apart from making Turkey notable in many spheres, this position also causes severe unvoiced discomforts for many countries. However, these discomforts and the appearance of some problems for Turkey by somehow their mentioning these discomforts can never be a reason abandon this reasonable strategy.
While the increasing terror attacks have been absurd today, they only become meaningful in the international relations and in the context of Turkey’s democratization process.
